Celebrating Native American Spirit: The CCR Totem Tour

On Friday August 8th, we had the honor of hosting a special CCR event as part of The Gathering theme—a tribute to Native American culture that brought our community together in a meaningful way. The CCR: Totem Tour took racers on a journey across the vast and rugged landscapes of Comet Island and beyond, where tradition and competition met in perfect harmony.

C-1 Finishes the Race!

With 29 dedicated racers crossing the finish line, with the spirit of friendly competition and an adventure enhanced by a curated playlist of Native American music, thanks to RedStormRizing, which streamed over Mahalo (Jaybeh) Radio Station, immersing everyone in the rhythm of the moment. The sounds of drums, flutes, and chants echoed the resilience and strength of the cultures we were celebrating, adding a special layer to the experience.

Participants navigated through checkpoints with the music and pieces of a totem pole. The race ended at the Gathering Island with the complete Totem Pole. The island housed all those appreciating the culture with builds featuring white buffalo, teepees and deer skins-- each element was carefully chosen to pay homage to the culture.

The grand prize went to Shivette, who has participated many times and also has won a few, having now won all three CCR vehicles in the 2024 season. Although Shiv has yet to choose the latest ride at this time. But the excitement didn’t end there. In a nod to our newly implemented Double Winner’s Circle, a second drawing was held for those who met the criteria: completion of the race before midnight, attendance at the Bonus Drawing event, and no previous CCR vehicle wins in 2024. The winner of the 2024 CCR ZMW was none other than MusicMom, whose joy and enthusiasm resonated with everyone present.

This event was more than just a race; it was a celebration of unity, respect, and the shared joy of coming together as a community. As we move forward, let’s carry the lessons of the Totem Tour with us—honoring the traditions of the past while forging new memories for the future. Here’s to many more races filled with purpose, passion, and respect.
