This past Friday, we hosted a very special Cross Country Race (CCR) to honor the memory of our beloved friend, Zayden, on his birthday. The event was a beautiful tribute to a creative soul who left an indelible mark on our community. Bananaphone was decorated with Zayden's Pop Up Shop filled with outfits and hair he made. It also featured some of his favorite items like the giant pile of pudding lifts! With a special birthday cake in the middle it was a happy event.
Remembering Zayden Through His Art
Each checkpoint along our race featured Zayden’s artwork. It was a moving experience to see his creativity come alive once again, reminding us all of the vibrant energy he brought to every project he touched. His unique style and artistic flair were celebrated, bringing smiles and a few tears as we remembered the times we shared.
Memories at Every Turn
What made this race truly special were the heartfelt memories shared at each checkpoint. Friends contributed stories that captured his spirit. These memories painted a picture of a young man who was not only talented but also deeply caring and dedicated -- and funny! Each story was a reminder of the joy he brought into our lives and the legacy he leaves behind.
A Celebratory Finish
We had 34 racers complete the course, including TWO brand new racers! To add to the excitement, we held two Bonus Drawings. Congratulations to Jamt and Jaybeh (BBC) for winning and receiving a little pocket money! The Grand Prize winner, with a drumroll, is Mary Helen! Already a recent winner, Mary Helen chose to receive the 2024 CCR ZMW Buggy to match her CCR ZMW Hoverbuggy.
