CCR: School's Out for Summer!

The "School's Out for Summer" CCR race on May 31 marked the start of the much-anticipated summer vacation. With checkpoints across Aurora, the event brought together enthusiastic participants ready to bid farewell to school days and embrace the sunny adventures ahead.

Race Highlights

The race saw a spirited turnout with 22 dedicated finishers crossing the finish line. The energy was great even at the very last minutes of the race. Bananaphone was decorated to replicate the quintessential school environment, complete with a gymnasium, teacher’s desk, lockers, and even school buses. This immersive setting added an extra layer of nostalgia, capturing the essence of the last day of school.

After the race, participants gathered in the school gym. In a thrilling turn of events, ltbigdog emerged as the winner of the 2024 CCR ZMW Buggy. Demonstrating an inspiring act of generosity, ltbigdog chose to donate the buggy to CCR's upcoming (end of Summer) fundraiser. This marks the second buggy donation, which will help the Cross Country Racers budget, enhancing future events and community activities. A huge thank you to ltbigdog for this (not exactly) tbux tax deductible contribution! Additionally, musicmom was the lucky winner of the 5K bonus drawing, and now that she has gas money - look out!
