CCR Blog Post: Olympic Ring Run - The Road to Victory!

The CCR: Olympic Ring Run was a journey through a series of checkpoints inspired by the grand tradition of the Olympic Games and with 29 finishers, this race brought together our CCR community in a celebration of the spirit of friendly competition. Let's dive into the highlights.

Themed Decorations: A Touch of Ancient Greece

Bananaphone transformed into an ancient Greek wonderland for this special event. The decor featured Roman columns, cascading ivy, and a majestic fountain showcasing the iconic Olympic Rings. This setup brought the spirit of the Olympics to life, providing a perfect backdrop for our racers. The rings were then added to each of the 10 clue PAZes and then the fun began! Racers toured and quested by vehicle as is the CCR tradition and by midnight Friday night more than two dozen had crossed the finish line!

Victory on the Olympic Ring Run

A huge congratulations to our winner, lostinthewoods, who skillfully navigated the course (COUGH) and claimed the top spot! For their outstanding performance, they chose the CCR Victory Buggy. This triumph also marks lostinthewoods as the second Cross Country Racer to complete the entire collectible set of CCR vehicles for the 2024 season! (The first being Shivaki).

The excitement didn't stop there. Our bonus drawing added an extra layer of thrill, and once again, luck was on lostinthewoods's side as they snagged the 5K prize. Mary Helen also joined the winner's circle, choosing the Victory Buggy and completing her set as well. It was a day of double victories and shared joy!

Introducing the Double Winner's Circle

As we look ahead, the upcoming 30th race of the season will mark the start of our exciting new Double Winner's Circle policy. This initiative ensures that more racers have the chance to win a vehicle, spreading the joy of victory even further within our community. Here’s how it works:

• Grand Prize Drawings: All CCR finishers are entered into a drawing, and the winner does not need to be present to win.

• Double Winner's Circle: If the Grand Prize winner has already won a vehicle this season, a second vehicle will be awarded during the Bonus Drawing to a participant who has not yet won. This ensures that every racer has a fair shot at taking home a prize.

• Bonus Drawing: Additional prizes or cash rewards will be given out during the Bonus Drawing, creating even more opportunities for participants to celebrate their achievements.
