CCR: Back to School Edition!

School’s back in session, and the latest CCR: Back to School event was full of fun, nostalgia, and some fierce competition! We had 31 eager finishers, plus a surprise latecomer, DanQue, who popped in after the bell! LadyJ aced the race, crossing the finish line first and selecting the coveted 2024 CCR ZMW as her reward. Not only that, but she and OzGate earned their 10 Point Trophies, proving they've been putting in the work all season.
This weeks lesson plan included little known "facts" about some of your favorite There House Neighborhoods. Students were able to take a field trip and learn some interesting things about the locals in each geographical location, including things like:
In Rogue, it’s whispered that on the full moon, the shadows on the houses come to life and play tricks on the residents. Some say they’ve seen eerie figures moving across walls, as if the shadows have a mind of their own. Local legend has it that these spectral shadows are the spirits of past residents, playfully watching over the neighborhood—or maybe just causing a bit of mischief!
In Incognito, there's a local legend that every time someone tells a joke, the wind carries it to the next house. The result? Neighbors often hear bursts of laughter coming from random directions, with no apparent source. Some say it’s the work of the ‘Laughing Breeze,’ a playful spirit that ensures humor travels far and wide, keeping the neighborhood in high spirits.
In Palm Ridge, it’s rumored that the palm trees are secretly in competition for the title of 'Best Sway.' Every year, during the windiest season, the trees put on a show, bending and swaying in perfect rhythm. Locals joke that the trees have their own underground dance battle league, complete with coconut judges and leafy trophies
Bonus Drawing & Extra Credit
In true CCR fashion, we didn't stop at the finish line! The Bonus Drawing gave three lucky racers – LadyJ, OzGate, and nancyjo – a little extra “lunch money” to take home, all walking away with cash prizes.
School Spirit in Full Swing!
Bananaphone High – Home of the Blockheads – was decked out like a classic school gym. From backpacks to cheerleader uniforms, the racers showed up in true back-to-school fashion. School buses zoomed by, paper airplanes flew overhead, and the nostalgia of school spirit was in the air. The photo ops were absolutely adorable, with racers embodying the energy of a first day back at school, even with some "teachers' pets" taking the lead.

A+ Racing Vibes
From the school-themed costumes to the gymnasium-turned-race track, the CCR community truly brought their school spirit. The Back to School event was a perfect way to kick off the new CCR season, and with each checkpoint offering fun and nostalgic surprises, everyone earned a gold star. Here's to another semester of fun, fast-paced racing!
